G Swamy Naik

A Champion of the Downtrodden

G Swamy Naik was a distinguished Member of Parliament in the Rajya Sabha, representing Andhra Pradesh from 1980 to 1992. He dedicated his life to the upliftment of the downtrodden, especially the Gor Banjara community.

Early Life and Background

Shri G. Swamy Naik was born on 25th December 1934 in Mahaboob Nagar District of the then Andhra Pradesh State (now Telangana).

He studied up to Matriculation and married Smt. Rukmini Naik. He was blessed with three sons and three daughters.

Legislative Career

During his two consecutive terms (1980–86 and 1986–92), he worked tirelessly to empower marginalized communities, advocate social justice, and promote education and healthcare.

Achievements and Legacy

His work inspired generations, improved lives, empowered communities, and strengthened social justice movements across India.

Shri G. Swamy Naik breathed his last on 14th June 1996.
